Current and Former State Senators Endorse Sean D. Burns for Delegate

State Senator Charles Sydnor and former State Senator Nathaniel McFadden  announce their support for Burns’ campaign

Baltimore, MD – Today, Maryland State Senator Charles Sydnor and former State Senator Nathaniel McFadden announced their endorsement of Sean D. Burns for Delegate (District 46), highlighting his longstanding reputation as a servant leader.

Citing their relationship of over “two decades,” State Senator Charles Sydnor (D-District 44, Baltimore City and Baltimore County) praised Burns’ reputation. “Sean is a problem solver and I have full faith that, if given the opportunity, he will represent the residents of District 46 well.”

“I am proud to endorse Sean D. Burns for the Maryland House of Delegates,” said The Honorable Nathaniel J. McFadden, former President Pro Tem of the Maryland State Senate who previously represented Maryland’s 45th Legislative District in Baltimore City. “I have known Sean since he was 13 years old, when he would shadow his uncle former Mayor Clarence ‘Du’ Burns around the city. I have seen Sean grow into a great servant leader—just like Du. I believe that Sean has all the qualities necessary to be an impactful member of the House of Delegates representing the great people of the 46th District.”

“I am beyond humbled to have the support of these amazing leaders,” Burns said. “My relationship with these leaders spans my entire professional career, and in the case of Senator McFadden, nearly my entire life. I look forward to continuing to work with them and have their support as I work to make the City of Baltimore safer, greener, and more equitable.”

These endorsements are the latest in a growing number of elected officials who are putting their support behind Burns’ campaign to replace Brooke Lierman in the House of Delegates. Congressmen Kweisi Mfume and Dutch Ruppersberger have endorsed Burns along with Delegates Jazz Lewis, Tony Bridges, Alonzo Washington, and Rachel Jones, and Baltimore City Council MembersJohn T. Bullock and Antonio Glover. In addition, Burns has received numerous endorsements from community leaders, educators, and small business owners in the district.
